PUPILS from Ellesmere Port were the first in the UK to take the Allied Dancing Association's new exam.

The youngsters, who attend Chriska Stage School, were handed President Teddy Awards by their own mascot Mr Ted.

Chriska spokeswoman Tracey Royle said: 'All the pupils had excellent results.

'They were delighted with the new award, which has only just been launched by the ADA Society in Liverpool.

'Our youngsters were the first to receive it in the UK. The award is already proving to be extremely popular.'

Meanwhile, Chriska has been helping raise money for the Tear Fund, a charity that aims to build wells and bring running water to children in Third World countries.

They recently ran a successful 'buckets of pennies for buckets of water campaign'.

Mrs Royle said: 'Lots of students and staff learnt much about what it means not to have water.'
