GRANDADS and dads enjoyed a fun-filled adventure day building dens and hunting for treasure in Helsby.
Dozens of parents and grandparents joined children as they enjoyed creating a magical den in the woodland garden at Badger’s Barn nursery.
Children threaded poles and peg sheets together, while adventurous parents competed to build the best encampment, before taking part in a massive treasure hunt searching for clues hidden in the woodland.
After working up an appetite, everyone feasted on a picnic of hot-dogs and sandwiches, before then sitting around the barbecues and toasting marshmallows on the smouldering flames.
The following day the nursery held another activity day for dads where parents got messy with the kids making models out of junk and flour, before competing in a quiz and tucking into a hearty dinner of steak pie and apple crumble.
