TRIBUTES have been paid to an Ellesmere Port man who died in a motorbike accident.

James Locker, aged 42, lost control on the A49 Whitchurch Road, north of the junction with Badcock's Lane, at Spurstow, near Tarporley, shortly before 10pm on Thursday. His bike left the carriageway and hit a road barrier.

Mr Locker, an electrical over-head linesman, was married with three teenage daughters.

His wife Julie said: 'Jimmy was a loving husband and devoted father. He was a hard working family man who had a passion for his motorbikes.

'He was a private man, who liked a practical joke and made our family life a real joy.

'His loss has had a devastating affect and left a huge void in our family which will be difficult to come to terms with.'

She thanked all her family and friends for the support they have given to her and her daughters.

Sergeant Steve Griffiths of Cheshire police's traffic unit urged witnesses to call him on 01244 614395.
