A BEER brewed in Nantwich was one of the top drinks on offer at a party to celebrate the opening game of the World Cup in Germany.
Footie Fever, brewed at Wrenbury's Paradise Brewery, was one of the products on offer in Frankfurt during an after-match party.
It was sold as part of a special line-up from North West Foods.
Brewer John Wood said: 'I'm pleased to be associated with the biggest show on earth in some way. I enjoy brewing for special occasions like Christmas and Father's Day.
'We made a special brew for Euro 2004 and named it after David Beckham but the team didn't have a lot of luck that year. Let's hope this time we'll do better.'
Mark Perry and John Burke, from Wigan, loaded up their camper van with the best of the northwest including Uncle Joe's Mint Balls, Barton's pickles, Shaw's firecracker sausages and the finest beer from the region.
