A BUDDING writer got a surprise when her school teacher dressed up as one of the main characters from her first published book.

Cuddington Primary School Year 1 pupil Caitlin Conway, has written a children’s book called The Racing Rabbit but didn’t expect her class teacher Steven Caldwell to dress up as the rabbit as part of World Book Day.

All pupils and staff dressed as their favourite children’s book characters and took part in various writing exercises.

Parents then visited the school to read to their child’s class.

Some of the pupils’ favourite dressing-up efforts came from Rebecca Hosker as the Queen of Hearts, Edward Alley as Harry Potter, Harrison Cartwright as The Hungry Caterpillar, William Hyslop as Robin Hood and Joel Leigh as Prince Caspian.
