NATIONAL crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers is appealing for new volunteers to join its Cheshire board.

Crimestoppers is an independent charity helping to fight crime in the UK by allowing people to pass on information about crime in their area anonymously.

It does not ask for caller’s names, calls are not traced or recorded and those who give information won’t have to give evidence in court.

Terry Savage, chairman of the Cheshire board, said: “Volunteering for Crimestoppers can be a very exciting and varied role. You may find yourself involved in organising a black-tie fundraising dinner, developing a publicity campaign to catch criminals in your area or promoting Crimestoppers’ services in the aftermath of a high-profile murder.”

The Cheshire board is looking for anyone with experience in business, networking, volunteer development, marketing, finance, young people’s issues or fundraising.

Board meetings are held four times a year in Winsford and there is ample opportunity to get involved in projects across Cheshire.
