A COMPUTER animation club for adults and children has started at the Frodsham Rainbow Youth Club.

The Fluin Lane club, supported by Frodsham Rainbows, Connexions and The Prince’s Trust, is teaching people how to create their own cartoon animations pioneered in films such as Toy Story.

Michael Troy of Connexions said: “It uses stop-motion animation and you get to learn about timing and how to add music. We want to break down barriers between young people and adults and get them working on animations together.”

Mid-Cheshire College computing student Will Brett, 16, of Frodsham, applied for funds from The Prince’s Trust and the £3,000 grant has enabled him to set up the club with the help of Connexions.

He said: “It is a really exciting new skill to learn and the course is open to any one of any age.”

Everyone who completes the course will be given a DVD of their animation and the works will go on show at Castle Park Arts Centre.

The course runs from 3.30-5.30pm on Mondays at Frodsham Rainbow Youth Club, Fluin Lane. For more information, call Michael Troy on 07985 897 756.
