One of the main routes linking Chester to Flintshire has been closed after a crash this morning.

Police closed the A548 Sealand Road after the crash between a black Jaguar and a white tipper lorry at about 9.30am this morning.

Emergency services including two ambulances and three fire engines are still on the scene. Traffic is being diverted through Blacon and Saughall.

A North Wales Police spokesman said: “We are in attendance on Sealand Road in Flintshire at a road traffic collision. The ambulance service and fire service are also in attendance.

“It involves a black Jaguar and a white tipper lorry.”

A spokeswoman from North Wales Fire and Rescue Service added: “We were called to a road traffic collision on Sealand Road at 9.27am this morning.

“Three appliances have attended – two from Deeside and one from Wrexham.

“The incident is still ongoing.”

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokeswoman also confirmed they have sent two ambulances to the scene, but have not been able to confirm if anyone has been injured in the collision.

Arriva Buses Wales tweeted: "Service update @10:00, delays are to be expected on #Chester services 10/10a due to a serious RTC on Sealand Road, Chester."

North Wales Police have confirmed that the road is now reopen.
