She said yes! A couple’s engagement moment under the Eastgate Clock has been captured forever.

The husband-to-be was pictured popping the question to his now fiancée in romantic Chester.

Jennie Gad shared this photo of the happy pair as the sun set just after 9.30pm on Saturday (July 2).

There must have been a few nerves for the groom, but he could not have picked a better and more memorable spot to get down on one knee.

The Eastgate is said to be the second most photographed clock in the UK and this is another snap to add to a long list of highlights.

Back in May a 'love lock', meant to be symbol of everlasting love, had to be removed from the listed monument because of strict heritage protection rules.
