THE Macdonald New Blossoms Hotel will celebrate the high quality, seasonal food used on its premises by sponsoring a One-Pot Cook Off on Saturday, March 15, to help launch the seventh annual Chester Food & Drink Festival 2008.

Entrants will be competing to win a weekend for two in the Master Suite at the hotel in St John Street, Chester, and have their dish added to its Snooty Fox Restaurant evening menu on March 15.

If you are short-listed as a finalist you will have the chance to display your culinary skills at the event, with the winner chosen by a panel of judges.

Kate Halewood, general manager for The Macdonald New Blossoms Hotel, said: “Competitors can only use one pot or pan to cook your dish, which must be influenced by traditional British ingredients.”

All ingredients will be supplied complimentary on request by The Macdonald New Blossoms Hotel. The meal should not take any longer than 30 minutes to prepare and 30 minutes to cook. Competitors must not work as a chef in a professional capacity and be aged over 18.

If you want to compete then contact Paula Bullock on 01244 323186, or e-mail: sales.blossoms@macdonald.hotels.co.uk for terms and conditions of entry. The closing date for entrants is March 12.

Tickets to the award ceremony, which is open to the public at 1.30pm on March 15th, cost £2 and are also available by contacting Paula.

The Chester Food and Drink Festival 2008 runs from March 14 to 25, with fringe events happening around the city.
