BUDDING photographers are being challenged to capture a snapshot of life at the popular Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre.

Owners Alistair and Janet King are launching a photographic competition with the winning pictures being used in the centre’s publicity leaflets, which will be seen by thousands of people.

The centre is home to around 30 shire horses as well as various other animals including red deer, pole cats, pigs, sheep and chickens.

Janet said: “With the amount and variety of animals we have at the centre there is always something going on and plenty of opportunity to take a good snap.

“We have seen from the photos that visitors post on our Facebook page that people love taking pictures here – and there have been some spectacular ones over the years.”

There are different categories in the competition for photographers to enter.

As well as snaps of the shire horses, people can also enter pictures into the categories of landscape, farm and wild animals and funnies, which covers those quirky, unplanned moments.

Janet added: “As a working stud farm there is obviously a strong focus on shire horses at the centre, but we have so many other animals and such great scenery that we want photos that capture the whole experience.

“We can’t wait to see what amazing pictures our visitors send in and we will be displaying a selection of the best in the centre.”

You can email your entries (one per person, per category) to cotebrookphoto@gmail.com or post them to Janet King at Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre, Cotebrook, Near Tarporley, Cheshire, CW6 9DS.

Entrants must include their name, address, telephone number and email address. All entries must be in by September 30.
