MORE than 300 military and civilian staff at RAF Sealand are awaiting the outcome of a Ministry of Defence (MoD) review.

The MoD is reviewing the RAF's Strike Command Air Combat Service Radar Support Unit at Sealand.

In total, 307 service and civilian posts will be moved or axed based on this review.

Defence minister Alan Ingram MP was due to make an announcement about the review last week but at the last minute it was postponed as the minister did not believe the review had been analysed enough.

Now the MoD cannot give an exact date for the announcement, leaving those affected to sit and wait.

'We believe there will be an announcement in the middle of March,' said an MoD spokeswoman.

'We understand the need to inform people of the current position but we also understand that the review has to be fully analysed before an announcement is made.'
