MORE than 100 pupils took part in an event to help generate ideas for community projects.

Year 9 pupils from Bishop Heber High School, took part in the Cheshire Police Crimebeat project.

The project was a full day activity where students completed a series of nine tasks linked to setting up a community project for young people in their village.

The winning team from the Heber Community Project were presented with £3,000 to set up their project. The money was donated by the Morgan Foundation, set up by local businessman Steve Morgan and Jane Harris.

The winning team was a group of students from the Farndon area with an idea to develop a fitness scheme at the Farndon Sports and Social Club.

All groups will now take their ideas to the various Parish Councils.
