A COMMUNITY team in Hoole organised a clean-up to clear up the weeds in the flower beds at Ermine Road Bridge.
Nine residents turned up with gardening gloves and tools to tackle the weeds, nettles and thorns, and filled 12 garden waste bags.
Volunteer Mark Williams said: “Plans are now under way to plant more flowers in the beds after last year’s successful daffodil planting.
“It is important residents takes ownership of communal spaces and shape how we want our neighbourhood to look.
“Thanks to all the residents that turned up to give a little of their time to help make the area look nice for all.”
