YOU don’t have to be a runner to experience the atmosphere and excitement of the MBNA Chester Marathon.
That’s the message from the organisers of the event who are offering people who live on the route the opportunity to be part of the occasion on Sunday, October 9.
Race director Andy White of Active Leisure Events said: “The runners will pass through the villages of Handbridge, Eccleston, Pulford, Lavister, Rossett, Holt, Farndon, Churton, Aldford and Huntington during their 26 mile challenge.
Organisers have been working closely with the police, councils and local communities.
“We look forward to people entering into the spirit of things on the day,” said Andy.
“And to this end we intend to offer a prize to the most supportive locality, whether that be a village or a single house, to be judged by runners of the race.”
