STRETTON Watermill is inviting visitors to join them for their Victorian Harvest Weekend on Saturday and Sunday, September 24-25 from noon–5pm each day.
The event will focus on traditional foods and there will be guided tours of the historic working watermill to see wheat being ground into flour, along with butter making and apple pressing.
There will also be a chance to taste Victorian harvest-time foods. Children will be able to try their hand at making corn dollies, milking a wooden cow, and playing with some traditional toys. Adding to the Victorian theme will be a display of penny farthings and other historic bicycles.
Farndon Councillor Howard Greenwood said: “The food theme is particularly apt as Stretton Watermill was recently featured on the BBC’s Great British Bake Off programme, exploring some of the history of flour production.”
All the activities are free of charge and there is a small charge for guided tours.
