CHESTER’S last remaining cinema is to stage a star-studded regional advance charity screening of the new James Bond film Skyfall starring Chester-born Daniel Craig.

The exclusive charity gala screening of the blockbuster, which marks the 50th anniversary of the series, will take place the day before the film’s general release.

The hotly anticipated 23rd Bond - the third to feature Daniel Craig as 007 - will be screened at Cineworld in Sealand Road on Thursday, October 25. This will be one of the first screenings of the film in the UK.

The Chester event takes place just 48 hours after Daniel Craig’s attendance at the Royal World Premiere, in the presence of The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall, on Tuesday, October 23, at the Royal Albert Hall.

The champagne screening in Chester follows the success of the Casino Royale screening in the city in 2006, the last big event to be held at the Odeon before its closure.

This was followed in 2008 by a special screening of Quantum of Solace at Cineworld.

The 2012 event will be raising money for the NSPCC.

Celebrities who have been invited to the screening include stars of stage and screen, including actors from Coronation Street, Hollyoaks and many Bond connected personalities including Daniel Craig’s family and the star himself.

Organiser Jane Harrad-Roberts, managing Director of Marketing Projects, said: “We have been working on this since July when I wrote to producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson, Daniel Craig’s agents, Sony and Eon productions.

“We have invited Daniel Craig to this star-studded event, as we have twice before, but understand he is very busy. We are hoping for third time lucky!

“Even if Daniel can’t make it, the Chester screening will include guests arriving in Aston Martins, a champagne reception before the screening and an after-show party at Cruise.

“We are also hoping that selected restaurants and bars across the city will put on Bond themed pre-show meals and, of course, cocktails.”

Tickets to the advance screening at Cineworld, Chaser Court, Greyhound Retail Park at 7.30pm for 8pm. cost £35 and include entrance to the after-show party at Cruise, St John Street. Tickets are available from next week online.
