Jenny Moore of Tarporley recently won the top ladies singles trophy at a Golf event held at Heyrose Golf near Knutsford to raise money for East Cheshire Hospice and St Luke’s Hospice.
The annual event attracted 92 players (12 up on 2012) playing in teams of four in a Stableford format organised by the Churches in Cheshire committee.
Venerable Ian Bishop Archdeacon of Macclesfield, a member of the organising committee said: “We are delighted at the number of people that played in this the fifth year of the event and we have raised over £3500 for the two hospices over the five years.
“The prize for the individual lady with highest Stapleford score along with prizes for teams and individuals were all provided by local companies. The lady’s winner being from Esthetique of Wilmslow.”
Churches of all denominations were represented along with individuals not associated with any religious organisation.
The event next year is to be again held at Heyrose on Friday, June 5, 2015.
