THE Shortlist for the Chronicle Gala Dinner Awards evening has been drawn up after a record breaking year of intense voting.

A staggering 4,500 votes were cast through The Chronicle and Chester Food, Drink and Lifestyle websites over a three week period.

The glittering gala dinner awards attended by celebrity chefs, VIPs, dignitaries and shortlisted members of the city’s food and drink industry will be the climax of this year’s 9th Chester Food, Drink and Lifestyle Awards.

Chester foodies have been busy nominating their favourite food and drink haunts within the city and surrounding areas.

All of the shortlisted venues will receive a mystery dine and shop experience over the coming weeks, in which judges will be marking all aspects of their businesses.

From the many hopefuls, the final shortlist will attend a glittering awards ceremony at Chester Racecourse on April 7, where all winners will be announced.

Some of the best chefs from around Chester have been confirmed to present the 2010 awards, which is a clear demonstration of how seriously the catering industry take, not only this awards ceremony, but also how they perceive Chester as a destination for food and drink.

The night will start with a cocktail on arrival, before guests are seated in the pavilion room.

Tickets for this event are just £40 per person or a table for 10 is just £350, visit or call 01244 355474 to reserve places.
