Christ church in Newtown opened its doors on December 20 to offer Christmas lunch to 35 homeless and vulnerable people in the area.
Drop-in co-ordinator Mattie Reilly said: “Everyone told us how much they enjoyed the lunch, the companionship and that they were truly grateful for the tasty turkey from Fernyhough’s butcher in Chester Forum’s market.
“Thanks go to everyone who volunteered to cook, prepare, donate and serve and gave up their Sunday afternoon to look after our important guests.”
