ORGANISERS of a Christmas carol celebration in Alvanley are giving concert goers food for thought by asking them to make edible donations that will be handed out to the homeless the following day.

In exchange for entrance to the Christmas carol concert – which takes place at Alvanley Village Hall from 7pm on Wednesday, December 22 – organisers of the ‘Food for Thought’ event will donate the items to Chester Aid To The Homeless (CATH) to distribute across Chester.

“Please support us, it will be great way to start your Christmas festivities whilst at the same time making Christmas a little more pleasant for homeless people of the Chester area,” said Mike Metcalf, one of the event organisers.

“CATH is a charity organisation that helps homeless people help themselves and we have set this concert up to assist their cause.

“Rather than an entry fee we are asking for a food parcel that will be distributed by CATH to the homeless the following day.

“Children and adults from the surrounding area will entertaining you with a host of Christmas song and music followed be mulled wine and mince pies and finishing with carols for all to sing along to.”
