THE sun shone as fundraisers stepped out for charity.
More than 500 walkers put their best foot forward on Saturday, in Breast Cancer Care’s Pink Ribbonwalk, sponsored by Santander in association with Woman&Home, at Cholmondeley Castle.
Hollyoaks actress Jessica Fox was one of those taking part in the 10-mile walk.
She said: “I had a fantastic day at the Pink Ribbonwalk and the weather was beautiful! It was such an honour to walk the route with so many incredible women and men who have been affected by breast cancer and who each have their own story to tell.
“The services and information Breast Cancer Care offer are an invaluable support to people affected by breast cancer and are provided entirely free, thanks to the fundraising efforts of everyone here today.”
Trinity Mirror Cheshire reporters Eleanor Barlow and Francesca Elliott and multimedia editor Claire Devine successfully completed the 20-mile route and reporter Mark Dowling the 10-mile trek.
Claire said: “We had a great day Cholmondeley Castle for Breast Cancer Care’s Pink Ribbonwalk.
“Hundreds of people joined together for a fantastic cause and the atmosphere was brilliant.”
Breast Cancer Care’s Pink Ribbonwalk project manager Lucy Johnston said: “We were delighted with how many people took part in this first ever Pink Ribbonwalk at Cholmondeley Castle, the day was a great success.
“Breast Cancer Care wants to help more people in the region who are dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis, and the money raised will really help those affected by the disease. We are already looking forward to next year’s event!”
