ORGANISERS of the action packed Cholmondeley Pageant of Power have revealed the 2011 event will be extended into a third day.

The Cholmondeley Estate were so thrilled at the visitor numbers to last years two-day event they have added an extra preview day to give more people the chance to see the world class vehicles on display.

Organisers expect 75,000 visitors to the estate between July 15 and 17, 2011, to see the cream of classic and modern performance cars as well as racing bikes, helicopters, aerobatics, powerboats, explosive military combat displays, hovercrafts and the fireworks concert.

The additional Friday preview day will allow visitors to get behind the scenes in the pit area and view the international field of famous cars, racing drivers and motorcyclists as they take to the 1.2-mile sprint track for practice runs before the competitive race action starts on Saturday.

The Pageant of Power started in 2008 and was created to celebrate power and performance in its many forms – the event attracted 15,000 people. After the success of the inaugural event, the Pageant managed to more than double its visitor numbers in 2009 attracting 33,000 people and raising £12,000 for the Army benevolent fund. Last year the event attracted more than 50,000 people and raised more than £75,000 for Help for Heroes.
