A distinctive pub on the Cheshire/Wirral border has had an extensive refurb, creating four new jobs.

The Chimneys, set in picturesque surroundings in Hooton Green on the A41 near the M53, has also unveiled a new menu.

Noted for its rural charm and rustic style, the character of the pub comes from its high ceilings and open fires.

Its name comes from the well known roof line with more than a dozen chimneys giving the building its distinctive appearance.

Birmingham-based Vintage Inns closed the pub for two weeks to create the new look with an interior refresh and undertake a recruitment drive.

General manager Paul Brady said: “The pub looks incredible and has been given a new lease of life.

“Guests have been very complimentary about the new look and menu and we are thrilled with the feedback we’ve had.

“The team are excited to welcome more guests into the pub and we would encourage anyone who hasn’t been to The Chimneys, to come and experience our great food and hospitality.”

The Chimneys’ new seasonal menu offers a selection of tempting ‘reimagined classics’ including a premium wagyu burger in a brioche bun, alongside creative fish dishes and salads.

The pub also offers a fixed price menu with two courses for £12.49 or three courses for £15.49 on selected dishes Monday-Thursday.

New guests can also take advantage of two offers by signing up to the Vintage Inn mailing list where they’ll receive a free starter with every main meal purchased, plus a complimentary bottle of birthday prosecco when booking for four or more.
