IT WAS fun, laughter and games all round for youngsters enjoying Bickerton School’s new Summer Club.

Representatives from churches including Brown Knowl, Malpas High Street and Crewe-by-Farndon all joined forces to organise the first ever week-long ‘Friends and Heroes’ Summer Club, where 30 children played games, learnt new songs, and held a treasure hunt and family picnic.

They also tried their hand at crafts such as puppet making, fridge magnet making, glass painting, collage and cooking.

The success of the club has already encouraged its planning team to start thinking about next year’s activities.

Organisers the Rev Nick Cutts, from High Street Church, Malpas, Pam Cutts, Veronica Green, Kay Schrimshaw and Kathryn Vaughan all helped with the running of the club, with support from Bickerton School and Broxton Parish Council.

Mr Cutts said: ‘This was a fantastic week where many members of the community gave themselves and their time for this event. We look forward to future times of fun together.”
