CHILDREN are thanking generous Frodsham residents and businesses who helped raise thousands to bring their friends over from Africa.

Pupils at Frodsham Manor House are preparing for their penpals from their partnership school in Ghana to visit in July after the flights were booked for 10 children and three teachers to travel to the UK.

The Frodsham school has thanked the community after raising the money to buy the tickets including local community groups, churches and businesses.

The children are now looking forward to creating a unique sculpture to commemorate the exchange after Ernest Cook awarded the school a grant of £1,600 to bring in an artist to work with them during the project.
