AN ARTIST is throwing open her studio in aid of the Hospice of the Good Shepherd.

Ceramicist Sonja Moss-Dolega is organising the charity art party at 8 Derwent Drive, Childer Thornton.

It will take place from 2pm to 6pm on Saturday September 4 and between 2pm and 7pm on Sunday September 5.

Original and contemporary artwork by professional artists will be on sale.

Ceramics, glass, textiles, wood, photography, painting and greetings cards will all be on offer.

There will also be talks and hands on demonstrations.

Refreshments will include tea, coffee, home made cakes, biscuits and jam.

Live music will help the party go with a swing.

“I have worked really hard to pull this act together,” said Sonja.

“ I am looking forward to lots of people coming and enjoying the event.

“It will be held in the house, garden and workshop”.

The party is supported by nicolasjon Hair Dressing and Beauty, Little Sutton, Follyfield Nurseries, Hooton, The Chimneys, Hooton Green and Ness Botanic Gardens.

A similar event last year made £450 and with all the proceeds going to the hospice, Sonja is hoping to top that amount.
