A dedicated follower of fashion from Chester has been taking London Fashion Week by storm in a new role as judge and ambassador.

Matthew O’Brien, 23, was on Britain’s Top Designer in last week’s London Fashion week.

The final was held at the Grand Connaught Rooms in Holborn, London, with a VIP  after-show party at the glamorous  Buddha-Bar Restaurant London, in Knightsbridge.

Matthew took to the catwalk with a special runway show of his autumn winter collection.

Entering fashion at the young age of 15,  Matthew started his first clothing label being dubbed The Boy in the Bedroom.

The clothing label, called mang, started  from a bedroom and was an instant success, bringing in sponsorship deals with international pro wakeboarders to exclusive nightclubs along with the Cheshire Jets.

Focusing on menswear, he was able to develop his design aesthetic leading him into womenswear where he was able to excel.

His passion and determination landed him many accolades, most recently Britain's Top Designer.

Along with being in the final of 4 young designers of the year winning 2. Matthew has a strong eye for detail and focuses on structure and shape, along with the use of unconventional fabrics.

Taking a keen interest in print design, his latest collection exhibits sharp monochrome prints with highlights of colour.

Against the sharp angular forms created  on the body. The future is very bright for Matthew as he starts to work with wider audiences from LA to China as he proves a  favourite on the international stage.

Matthew has been recognised by vogue Italia as a talent to watch. The year ahead is looking to be Matthews’s year with a number of projects and TV work in the pipeline to expose the label on the world’s stage. With his ever grown client list for made to measure their seems to be no stopping him.
