A second Home Bargains store opens in Chester this Saturday (September 24) creating up to 50 jobs following a £500,000 investment.

The Greyhound Retail Park store, which opens from 8am, will feature a special appearance from children’s favourite Stuart the Minion from the hit Universal Pictures films Minions and Despicable Me, who will arrive at 11am.

It will be the city’s second Home Bargains following the opening of the original store in Boughton.

As the UK’s largest family-run retailers, Home Bargains has more than 400 outlets, opening at a rate of 50 new stores each year.

Joe Morris, operations director at Home Bargains, said: “We’re thrilled to be launching our second store in Chester and look forward to welcoming both new and existing customers through the doors.”

The 19,400 sq ft unit is situated near retailers including John Lewis, Next and Boots. The store will offer shoppers a range of products, including homeware, health and beauty essentials, sweets, snacks and drinks, as well as fresh and frozen food.

Joe added: “Greyhound Retail Park will be a great location for us and we’re proud to be able to offer local people top-branded goods at exceptionally low prices.”

With more than four million customers each week, Home Bargains says it is one of the country’s ‘best-loved’ discount retailers, stocking ‘top-quality branded goods at low prices’.
