YOUNGSTERS at Queen’s Park High School in Handbridge – a specialist visual arts college – held a celebration of the arts.

This included a performance by Year 7 students of A Stomp through Wonderland, which is a fusion of the Alice in Wonderland story and music inspired by Stomp.

The project began with students travelling to London to see the musical theatre performance known as Stomp.

This was followed by masterclasses in art, music and drama that saw students design and make headpieces and costumes, write scripts and compose music using everyday objects such as teacups and dustbins.

Students and staff worked together in after school sessions as well as weekends to complete the production.

A Stomp through Wonderland was performed for students from Overleigh St Mary’s Primary School at a matinee performance and for parents and guests at the schools arts evening.
