Supporters of a Chester-based charity and the city’s Lord Mayor will take part in the very English past-time of lunch to boost funds and raise awareness of brain injuries within the region.
The Lord Mayor of Chester, Angela Claydon, will join Head Injury People (HIP) for a Ladies Lunch on Friday (October 14).
The lunch will be hosted by Chester’s boutique hotel, restaurant and bar Oddfellows in Lower Bridge Street, and supported by Chester-based law firm Birchall Blackburn Law. Jewellers Boodles of Chester will also give a talk and presentation after the lunch.
HIP in Cheshire, based at the Countess of Chester Health Park, aims to reduce isolation and improve the quality of life for people, including their family and friends, trying to cope after a serious brain injury.
Charity fundraiser and coordinator for HIP in Cheshire Clare Emerton said: “The presence of The Lord Mayor is a wonderful boost for our ladies lunch. High-profile local people help us raise awareness of brain injury and the hidden impact. There’ll be many people with head injuries who are hidden away within the Chester region. Those people need to know that HIP in Cheshire can help them rebuild and live an active and sociable life.
“We also owe a big ‘thank you’ to Oddfellows, Birchall Blackburn Law and Boodles of Chester for their support. Again having regional businesses involved raises our profile and helps us fund more services for brain injury victims.”
