CHESTER’S Beth Greenham is celebrating after winning the Miss Galaxy 2010 title in the international beauty contest held at Daresbury.

Sunday night’s event saw the contestants taking part in a catwalk show comprising fashion, swimwear and evening wear.

The overall winner was Beth, representing Chester, who will now take part in the international final in Detroit, USA.

The current Miss Cheshire, Catriona Cameron – who represented Daresbury – was placed in the top 25 out of the 60 finalists from the length and breadth of the UK.

Catriona, who has been promoting the work of Vision Support, said: “It was a really fantastic day. The event was so well organised. We had indivdual pageant coaching from the current Mrs England, Hannah McCuaig, and last year’s winner, Hayley Mac, was on hand all day to calm our nerves and give us tips.

“All the contestants were lovely and it was wonderful to hear about all the different charity work that they have been engaged with over the past year.”

She added: “Beth was a lovely girl and really deserved to win. I think it’s fabulous that the UK winner is a North West girl as she will now be able to represent the area on an international level.”
