TWITTER users made Chester Zoo one of the most talked about topics in the UK today thanks to The One Show host Jason Manford.
The Mancunian comedian, who took to The One Show sofa alongside new encumberment Alex Jones on Monday, asked his 138,866 followers on the social networking site whether he should visit Chester Zoo or its north-west rival in Blackpool.
Within minutes Chester Zoo became a “trending” topic with dozens of people telling the TV star to visit Chester and Manford later announced the Upton site as the winner, writing “@ChesterZoo_No1 looks like you win, seeya Saturday x”.
Chester Zoo spokesperson Meg Pugh said: “We were the third most talked about subject at one point.
“The public have said such positive things and he has made his own decision.
“We are expecting him to come in as a normal visitor would on Saturday, he will probably spend the day here with his family.
“It’s credit to the people who love Chester Zoo.
“If people hadn’t gone on and said he wouldn’t have chosen us.
“We’ll be checking to see if he attends at the weekend and see if there’s any feedback.”
