Chester Zoo will re-open to the public again today (Wednesday, February 28) after bad weather forced it to close all day yesterday.

The zoo decided to close for the day after yesterday's heavy snowfall, saying they apologised for any inconvenience but 'visitor safety and animal welfare' were their top priorities.

Customers who had pre-booked tickets were given a full refund and could choose to visit the zoo for free on a date of their choice this year.

However, it's business as usual again today and the zoo will be open from 10.30am until 4.30pm.
