A Chester architecture and building practice has donated £1,100 to charity.

Architectural, planning and building surveying practice Cassidy + Ashton donated the money after competing in a gruelling charity triathlon.

Three teams, comprising nine employees from across the group, took part.

The JLL Property Triathlon North challenged property, construction and built environment professionals to run, cycle and swim 5k, 20k and 750m respectively.

Entrance fees were donated to the organiser’s nominated charities, Christie Charitable Fund and the Starlight Children’s Foundation, yet Cassidy + Ashton wanted to support a charity of staff’s choice.

Director at Cassidy + Ashton Guy Evans said: “We entered the charity triathlon last year and raised a significant amount of money for DIAL West Cheshire.

“Witnessing the difference our donation made, this year we entered the race at three teams strong – all raising money for St Catherine’s Hospice in Preston.

“It’s a charity that we have worked alongside for many years and our team was passionate about supporting it.

“The triathlon was exhausting but the common goal and competitive spirit got us all through to the finish line and far from the last place. Most importantly, we hope the money raised will be invaluable in helping the hospice to continue its fantastic work throughout the region.”

Chief executive at St Catherine’s Hospice Stephen Greenhalgh added: “We are extremely grateful to Cassidy + Ashton for their efforts.

“We rely on charitable support and the amazing generosity of our communities to continue running the hospice each year.”
