The trial of two Chester women accused of murdering a businesswoman is due to begin tomorrow (Tuesday, July 5).

Sarah Williams, 35, of Treborth Road, Blacon, and Katrina Walsh, 56, of Hare Lane, Guilden Sutton, both deny murdering Sadie Hartley, 60, in January this year.

The mother-of-two, who ran her own medical communications business, was found dead from stab wounds at her detached home on Sunny Bank Road in the village of Helmshore, Lancashire, on January 14.

Walsh entered the dock at Preston Crown Court today on crutches, followed by Williams who sat with a file of papers on her knee as lawyers dealt with preliminary legal matters.

The trial, scheduled to last up to seven weeks, is scheduled to begin after a jury has been selected tomorrow morning.
