Final preparations are under way for the staging of an iconic and much loved musical by a Chester theatre company in Mold.

Tip Top Productions will perform smash hit musical Grease at Theatr Clwyd from October 5-8.

Based on the incredibly successful 1978 film which made stars of John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, featuring all the well known hits from the silver screen original, the stage version will be directed for Tip Top by Steve Davies with musical direction by Tim Jones and choreography by Rhian Underwood.

The cast, many of whom have appeared in previous productions with Tip Top including their 2015 youth production of Les Miserables and the West End and Broadway compilation show This is My Musical, includes 18-year-old OIiver Hale and 22-year-old Becky Roberts in the iconic roles of Danny and Sandy.

Becky, a self employed dance and singing teacher, has appeared previously for Tip Top playing Snow White in their popular traditional family pantomime at the Forum Studio Theatre in Chester and as Dorothy in their acclaimed production of The Wizard of Oz at Theatr Clwyd.

The show’s director Steve Davies said: “We are delighted to have a very talented cast and crew on board to bring this iconic musical to the stage and are honoured to be performing once again at Theatr Clwyd, especially in this the theatre’s 40th anniversary year.”
