A CHESTER teenager has discovered he has a green fingered talent.

Fourteen-year-old Ben Gregory from Eccleston Avenue spent part of his summer re-designing his parents’ vegetable patch into a rustic garden for the family.

Inspired by a picture he saw at his aunt’s house, Ben's creation has raised beds, slate ledges and even an old basket donated by his grandmother.

The garden covers more than 70 square feet and took Ben two weeks to complete.

He said: “I just wanted a project for the summer and I've always enjoyed being creative.

“I've tried to keep a colour scheme running throughout the garden.

“I always had a picture in mind of what I wanted it to look like and I'm really pleased with the end result.”

Ben's mum Sarah said: “He's done an amazing job.

“We're all really proud of him, he's a credit to all teenagers.”

Ben has just started his options year at school, one of his subjects is photography, which he is thinking about carrying on as a career.
