RICHARD Lucas has been singing his heart out - and he needs your vote.
The 26-year-old from Newton has been shortlisted in London’s "Busking Underground" competition, run by Mayor Boris Johnson.
The contest is looking to find the best young busker in the capital.
Richard was recorded singing Paul Weller’s ‘English Rose’ at Westminster station in the subway that leads to the Houses of Parliament on Saturday April 16, 2011.
If he makes the top-ten, he’ll be entered into a Live Busk Off to decide the winner.
He already has more than 130 votes but is appealing to the people of Chester to make sure he gets through.
Richard, who now lives in London, said: "I busk mainly for enjoyment but it’s nice to make a bit of money.
"When little kids are dancing next to you and tourists are making videos, it can be really good fun.
Richard is the lead singer of Quaintways, a Chester band who often play at Telford’s on Christmas Eve.
"I used to busk a lot in Chester and we come back up for gigs.
"It would be really good to get some local votes."
