A Chester man was part of a guard of honour to welcome the Queen.

Able Seaman Thomas Baker, 27, is currently serving with the Royal Navy aboard the frigate HMS Lancaster .

When the Queen made an official visit to the ship at the Naval Dockyard at Portsmouth, Thomas was a member of the guard of honour to welcome her aboard.

HMS Lancaster is known as The Queen’s Frigate due to the monarch’s position as the Duke of Lancaster. The Queen launched the warship on May 24, 1990.

She formally inspected the guard of honour, before meeting members of the crew and their immediate families at a reception. She then had lunch with senior officers and toured the ship.
