THE reopening of a footbridge which runs parallel to the railway line at the Roodee viaduct in Chester has been further delayed until the spring.

Earlier this month The Chronicle revealed completion of works had been put back after persistent heavy rainfall led to a landslip on the embankment by Curzon Park.

Network Rail said the ongoing works to upgrade the footbridge on behalf of Cheshire West and Chester Council have been hampered as engineers continue to work to repair the damaged footbridge and foundations.
