POP sensation Pixie Lott will be one of many big acts setting the stage alight at this year’s Chester Rocks extravaganza.

The star will be one of the headline acts at the Chester Rocks 2012 festival at Chester Racecourse on June 16-17.

This is Chester Rock’s second year - last year saw over 15,000 people walk through the gates, this year organisers hope the numbers will swell significantly with both Londoner Pixie, and The Courteeners, in the line-up.

She will wow fans there on Sunday, June 17, while The Courteeners and Liverpool band Cast will grace the stage the day before on Saturday, June 16.

Teen starlet Pixie Lott will be a must see for pop fans, and the ‘Mama Do’ singer is no stranger to the festival circuit - she made a big impression at the Big Top at the Isle of Wight Festival in 2009, and since then has enjoyed five consecutive top 20 singles and sold over a million copies of her debut album.

Headlining the Saturday show will be Manchester rock band The Courteneers whose indie anthems have sold out many major venues across the UK since the release of their debut single ‘Cavorting’ in 2007.

The following year the band were crowned winners of the Guardian’s first British Album award and in December of the same year, were crowned inaugural winners of the Guardian's First British Album award. Last year, tickets for their shows at the Manchester Apollo sold out in just 12 minutes.

Other acts on the bill will be ‘90’s Liverpool band Cast, dance artist Katy B, rapper Maverick Sabre, hip hop artist  Labrinth, and Tinchy Stryder - known for his chart-topping single ‘Number One’ and his collaborations with artists including N-Dubz and Sugababes singer Amelle Berrabah.

Organisers have also said that other acts will be added to the line-up at a later date.

And even though Chester Rocks is all about the music,  there will be fairgrounds, performers and trade stands will ensure there is something for all the family.

Tickets go on general release from Friday March 9, but are available to buy via the artists fan clubs now. You can also buy your tickets from Ticketmaster  at £35 each.
