A Chester fundraiser has put his best feet forward to raise money for a worthy cause.
Chris Knight recently completed the Sandstone trail to raise money for Parkinson's in Chester and nationally.
Chris's dad died in March this year and had coped with Parkinson's for a long time, raising lots of money and awareness along the way.
The walk was planned anyway, but for him and his family (all from the Chester area) it has taken on even greater significance.
Chris completed the route despite the atrocious weather, particularly on the Saturday which turned the route into a quagmire.
The walk started in Frodsham High Street with thunder and lighting and ended in Whitchurch again to the sound of very loud thunder, but fortunately no rain.
The first day, until late afternoon was a head down slog through the horrible weather and glutinous Cheshire clay, ending up just over half way at Burwardsley.
The second day was better weather wise, but the first day had taken its toll and it became a walk of attrition to complete.
Although sore, aching, blistered, bitten, burnt and exhausted by the end he was delighted by the response of family, friends and donations.
Chris was greeted at the end by friends and family, including his two sisters, Helen Dymond and Linda Smith, who have been active volunteers with the Chester branch of Parkinson’s inspired by their late father’s previous enthusiastic involvement.
