Chester Race Company Ltd has announced the appointment of two new directors to its Board.

Respected industry and business leaders, Charles Barnett, C.V.O, former CEO of Ascot and managing director of Aintree Racecourse and Kevin Bacon, CEO of hospitality and entertainment consultancy Urban Legacies, and former director of The Restaurant Group PLC, will serve as non-executive directors.

Chairman of Chester Race Company Martin Beaumont said: “We welcome Charles Barnett and Kevin Bacon to our Board of Directors. Both are respected leaders and mentors, with great wisdom, vision and focus that have led their respective companies to strong and sustained business growth. It is exciting to welcome new members to the Board who bring with them a fresh perspective. Charles Barnett, C.V.O joined Ascot as Chief Executive in 2007, having previously been managing director of Aintree for fifteen years.

Mr Barnett went on to play a pivotal role in the growth and development of Ascot, where he oversaw eight Royal meetings.

Chief executive officer of Urban Legacies Kevin Bacon has more than twenty years’ experience in the hospitality industry including restaurants, family leisure and consumer entertainment.

For eight years he was a senior director of The Restaurant Group PLC with responsibility for over three hundred restaurants and seven brands.
