GOOD sports stepped out to raise £10,000 for charity.
The Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile took place at Chester racecourse on Sunday.
More than 1,000 fundraisers took part in the national charity event.
Chester racecourse was packed with runners of all ages who chose between a one, three or six-mile course.
Event organiser Alex Jarvis was delighted with the turn out and the sunny weather.
She said: “It’s been brilliant to see so many schools and families getting involved.
“This is something everyone can take part in.
“We are looking to do it again next year.”
The fundraisers were cheered on by Chester’s Dee 106.3fm.
Julie Prince said: “It’s been fabulous.
“We’ve had live links to the studio, and we’ve been doing shout outs for the runners.”
At least £10,000 has been raised for Sport Relief which will help vulnerable people in the UK and around the world.
