CHESTER Race Company's Restaurant 1539 has received its first AA Rosette for Culinary Excellence.

The Rosette scheme has long been established and successfully recognises cooking at different levels nationwide.

Of all the restaurants across the UK, about 10% are considered worthy of a Rosette. The award was based upon serving food prepared with care, understanding and skill, using good quality ingredients, achieving standards that standout in the local area.

This week a Villeroy & Boch plate arrived confirming the Rosette, which was received by head of catering at Chester Race Company, Phil Dougherty.
