A QUEEN’S School girl has reached international stardom on the sporting stage.
Jenny Moore, 16, has returned to school as an international badminton champion following her performance in the under 17s junior international tournament in Langenfeld, Germany this summer.
Jenny represented England in both singles and doubles matches winning the mixed doubles with a partner from Hampshire. The pair defeated the Danish number one seeds and favourites to win in the second round and the experienced number one Swedish pair in a very close third and final game which ended 22-20.
Jenny also reached the third round in the singles tournament.
Jenny, who trains four times a week in Manchester said: “Badminton is a very important part of my life and I have made so many great friends.”
Head of PE Chris Moore said: “Jenny has now reached a new level in her badminton. She is focused and hardworking and thoroughly deserves this win in her international career.”
Jenny has been selected to play for England in Switzerland in a few weeks’ time.
