Girls interested in experiencing how a Queen’s education really works are invited to a free morning of fun, interactive science activities at The Queen’s School in Chester.

The Sweet Science event, held on Saturday, November 14, at the Queen’s Senior School on City Walls Road, is open to girls currently in Year 6 at any primary school.

Budding chemists will spend the morning in The Queen’s School’s laboratories taking part in weird and wonderful experiments with a delicious confectionary theme - all strictly in the name of scientific research.

Headmistress of the senior school, Sarah Clark, said: “A bit like Charlie from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, they could be doing anything from exploding cola cannons and jelly babies to making their own ice cream in a plastic bag.

“There’s lots of fun to be had and, unlike the novel, we promise no children will be turned into blueberries!”

All are welcome and this is event is completely free. Arrival time is 9.30am and the event finishes at noon.
