Chester Polo Team had much to celebrate at the weekend as they reigned victorious for a third year in the LDF International Polo tournament at the Roodee.

About 1,000 people headed to a sunny Chester Racecourse on Saturday, the home of Chester Polo team, to watch the Stella Artois sponsored squad claim victory in a thrilling, high octane final against Boodles.

Richard Thomas, captain of Chester Polo and Chester Race Company CEO, scored a thrilling equaliser in the final seconds, sending both teams to a golden goal decider, which was scored by Chester Polo International Mikey Henderson.

Five times British Champion Jockey Willie Carson was among VIP guests for the final and after presenting to the best player, he wowed the crowd by nimbly jumping on the back of the Best Playing Pony, some 19 years after his retirement from racing - proving that at 73, he’s still a great sportsman.
