CHESHIRE Constabulary is inviting the gay community to have their say on issues which affect them at a meeting next week.

Following the success of previous LGBT (lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender) Community Action Meetings held over the last two years, Sergeant Mandy Shaw, one of Cheshire Constabulary’s LGBT liaison officers has set up another meeting at the Liverpool Arms, Northgate Street, Chester.

The meeting will be held on Monday, April 26 from 6pm-8pm.

Sgt Shaw said: “We hold these meetings twice a year and they have always been successful. The turnout has been good, but in order to get a true picture of the issues affecting the community and the general feeling, it is important to us to see as many people as possible at the meeting.

“As a result of the previous meetings, we were able to deal with issues which were a cause for concern. This will be an opportunity to find out about any new issues that need to be tackled.”
